We envision a world where children can grow up safe, protected, and loved.

Lantuun Dohio Australia is the leading non-profit working to end child abuse and neglect in Mongolia and around the world. Our programs, like Magic Mongolia, are designed to help both the children who have already been affected by the abuse and aid in the prevention of future abuse.

Through prevention programs, one-on-one counseling services, and advocacy, we offer protection, support, guidance and assistance to build a community that provides a circle of safety and possibility for children.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH

Along with our supporters, we consistently provide education, support, and resources to families to create safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments.

WHY HAS LANTUUN DOHIO BEEN ESTABLISHED?

In 2012 after meeting with a father of a human trafficking victim, our founder, Ganjavkhlan Chadraabal (Jack) was shocked to find out that human trafficking existed in Mongolia, and he was determined to fight against human trafficking by bringing public attention to this unspoken, taboo subject.

In spite of denials that such problems exist, Lantuun Dohio has uncovered proof that human trafficking and forced prostitution are prevalent in Mongolia through its undercover investigations since 2013. According to the 2017 Trafficking in Persons Report from the U.S. Department of State, Mongolia is a source, transition, and destination country. Unfortunately, Mongolian women and young girls are the most vulnerable to inhumane crimes. In 2015, Lantuun Dohio went undercover in Er Liang, China, a border city, and documented that about 250-300 Mongolian women work as prostitutes in Er Liang city on any given day. Many of them are 14-17 year old children. During the Chinese holiday season, this number increases to about 800 to 1000.

The team learned through experience that about 90% of the perpetrators of human trafficking, domestic violence, child abuse are men and about 90% of the organizations that fight against these issues are led by women. We have realized this imbalance and believes that men are needed to show their support to protect their women and children from human trafficking. In this effort, he led a group of men to initiate Lantuun Dohio NGO in Mongolia.

We believe that a child who grows up in a loving and caring environment is less susceptible to become a victim of human trafficking and/or become an abuser. Therefore, our main approach is to work with children in vulnerable areas from very young ages and engrave self-worth and respect in their innocent minds before a dark shadow nests in it.

VISION

We envision a world when children grow up happy and healthy in an environment free of abuse, neglect and violence.

MISSION

Lantuun Dohio’s mission is to eradicate human trafficking and protect children from violence, neglect, abuse, and exploitation in Mongolia and around the world.

APPROACH

Lantuun Dohio understands that any given social problem is complex; hence it requires a holistic and layered approach including all stakeholders starting from the individual level, to family, to community, and finally, to the institutional level.

WHO WE ARE

The work they do is invaluable. Human trafficking is a dark secret still in many countries…people want to look away and drink their coffee while reading news on their Ipad…but for the victims of human trafficking, life is one long nightmare of forced sex and beatings…often when they are less than 12 years old !

The work Lantuun Dohio is doing to protect children and raise awareness about the problems of child abuse and human trafficking is important not only to Mongolia, but also to the world.
Regardless of how tired and exhausted I get, I feel instant happiness and joy by simply seeing how our kids are improving day by day, right in front of my eyes.
